instax update.

A about a month ago Tate and I went to Utah for one of his races. His sister and I had way too much fun playing with filters and taking pictures with our instax cameras. These are the photos she took over the weekend. The filters are so great:

Have the instax camera but no filters? Buy them here. They're worth the 40 bucks. Next purchase: a fisheye and wide angle lens for the camera.
* hah fujifilm isn't paying me for saying this... I just think we all need one (or two) of our own.

P.S. sweet giveaway soon! It may or may not have to do with a similar camera ;) help me reach 150 followers?

evening picnic.

After hours of school and work we thought it'd be appropriate to make some sandwiches, pack a couple of sodas, and bring a quilt to the park for an evening picnic:

I think we planted our quilt in the middle of a frisbee-golf course. hah. Next time we're bringing a frisbee for sure. So happy the polaroid camera (Ruth) is starting to make an appearance this summer. I'll have to share the rest of polaroids we took soon. Our little adventure at the park was a success!

little things.

Lately I've been trying to notice the smaller things around me that I normally take for granted. Right now I'm really appreciating my over-worn leather sandals, the air conditioning in my apartment, and the blue skies. And when I found that photo above on pinterest I about died over her sunglasses and hairstyle. Not sure how the picture and quote fit together... oh well. open your eyes and see the beauty.

note to self: outfit post soon? yes please.

the right place.

oh, summer. Looks like you're finally here. Can't wait to bring out the polaroid cameras, birkenstock sandals, and messy buns. The temperature has reached over 100 degrees and I found myself at the lake almost everyday this weekend. Finally my swimsuit is seeing daylight (and my legs). There's three weeks left of school and although I can't wait to be homework free, I think I'm really going to miss this little town and my dear friends... oh and this hot hot weather.

seeing stars.

1 // 2 // 3

Apparently I have the fourth of july in my mind as of late due to the red, white, and blue dresses along with stars (to say I'm excited is an understatement). Is anyone else falling for those firework stands that sell everything at ridiculous prices? I hope I don't cave this year. But I'll take all of those dresses in a heartbeat. Thank youu Madewell for your sale selection (and getting me too pumped for the fourth with those dresses).

summer solstice carnival.

In celebration of summer solstice my apartment complex threw a BBQ and mini carnival. A rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, inflatable race courses, you name it. And free cotton candy. Clearly we had to go:

My day was complete after watching Tate attempt the mechanical bull. That picture says it all. And too many photo booth pictures? never. I've also been converted to the choco taco: a taco filled with ice cream topped with chocolate. Thank you Taco Time for the best creation ever.

note to self: go to as many carnivals this summer as possible.

yellow.

When the sister-in-law and I are bored... we take pictures. Too many, probably. But here's what we wore over the weekend (and we're pretending that two completely different shades of yellow next to each other are acceptable):
me: top- thrifted. skirt-american apparel.
her: top- banana republic. skirt- gap.

And I wasn't going to post this last picture... but my nonexistent neck and her expression is way too good to not share:

Happy wednesday :)

see you next time.

I've been up since four this morning flying and driving to get back to Idaho, but I've made it back safely with the help of too much candy and a couple of energy drinks. While the strangers next to me were literally telling their whole lives to each other (sharing way too much personal details might I add), I was busy listening to M83 and taking pictures of the view from inside of the plane:

How can you not fall in love with those green trees? Really. To say I miss home already would be an understatement. But I'm happy over here too at my "second home" in this tiny town in Idaho for school.   See you next time, Seattle.

seattle.

When my sister in law called me and asked if I could help her drive back home to seattle, of course I said yes! I was only here for two days but I had a lovely time. The weekend according instagram:
PhotobucketPhotobucket

driving home. 12 hours.
tate got second place in state. woohoo!
riding the bus to seattle.
pikes place with mom.
funky wigs.
my besties.

Finally have an instagram account of my own  (I gave in). Check it out here!

note to self: This weekend back home was much needed. Spend really good time with my family and friends. Though now I'm feeling even less motivated with school. 4 more weeks... stay strong.
8

drive-in.

this is the Teton-Vu:

Outside movie with the roommates on a Wednesday night? ohh yes. After realizing that four people couldn't fit in my ridiculously tiny car we took all of our blankets and laid on the grass. The sky was clear, there was no wind (which is rare), and it was pretty warm outside. Perfect night for a drive-in! Snow White and the Huntsman is. a. must. see (although Kristen Stewart is her usual monotonous self). If you have a local drive-in I'd recommend you go :)
24

bridge jumping.

My lovely roommates birthday! We went to 50 cent tuesday at Buffalo Wild Wings (salt and vinegar wings sound strange but are the best) to celebrate. And then came bridge jumping:

Jumping according to my cheap fisheye lens. Maybe next time I'll get the nerve to climb to the top and  drop from there. I'm finally realizing that Rexburg has a lot to offer... river rafting, bridge jumping, drive-in movies, you name it (which is a good and bad thing because I'm starting to feel less motivated for school).

note to self: save up to buy a waterproof camera and take way too many underwater photos this summer.

river rafting according to my polaroids.

This is our river rafting trip from Friday according to my instax camera. Tate and I went with his co-workers and friends... eleven people in all! We packed up the raft on a trailer, bought way too many drinks, and headed out to the river just outside of town.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

I kinda wish the photos weren't so blurry (it's late and Adobe Illustrator is being picky tonight)  but overall I'm happy with how these photos turned out. Slowly getting less stingy with the film though! We may have gotten rained on and a little lost while floating but I had a freaking blast. More water activities this summer? Ohhh yes.

note to self: next time jump in the river... no matter how cold it is!
11

the weekend in an instant.

side note: I feel completely rejuvenated with this new blog look! I'm learning quite a lot in my graphic design classes and I had way too much fun creating that cubic zirconia above. With the help from my sister-in-law, I have a little button to grab too ;)

oohhh this weekend was good. Lots of dates and spending time with Tate. Besides river rafting (sharing pictures very soon!) this is what I was up to over the weekend:

That rainbow was the brightest rainbow I've e.v.e.r seen. I felt like I was five years old, I'm pretty sure I was clapping my hands and 'eeeking' a little too much. After dinner at Costa Vida and rainbow gazing we saw Dark Shadows at the dollar theatre. Have you seen it yet?! It's a must see. I'm half tempted to go again this week...

verdict: this weekend deserves an A+. Yay for semi good weather and great company!

looking forward to the weekend.

Currently singing Rebecca Black's "friday" song in my head while writing this post (at 1 in the morning). Hence the overdone and uncreative title. Moving on....

peter pan collared shirt: forever21

Finally. Another week of school done. This means I can look forward to a weekend filled with with river rafting, barbecues, and maybe even a drive in movie. Lots of polaroids this weekend? yes please. I'm in the progress of re-designing my blog too... can't wait to show you when it's finished!

happy friday!

inspiration, lately.

current inspiration:

long hair and summer flowers.
a message board above the bed.
rooftop picnics.
crop tops at the beach.

note to self: summer checklist... find a similar message board (as soon as freaking possible) and have a rooftop picnic like that!

snow cone shack.

A couple of posts ago I was complaining about the overcast and wind. My wish for summer weather has been granted that's for sure. 8 o' clock at night and 90 degrees. Hello warm weather and snow cones. And thank youu little Rexburg for snow cone shacks on basically every street (but then again, there's only two or three main roads).

him: very berry with cream
me: sour pink lemonade with cream

note to self: I think I'm becoming a snow cone snob (but this place was pretty good). You can never go wrong with pink lemonade shaved ice, no?

too fast.

You guessed it, I went to Utah this weekend. I should probably just move there. This time Tate and I went up there for a few bike races and to spend with his family that came up from Vegas (!!). Here are a few photos from the past couple of weekends. I wish I wasn't so stingy with my film or I would have taken a bajillion more:

The most perfect weekend yet. I really enjoyed going to his bike races (go tate!!) and soaking in the sun at the water park with his sister, that super pretty lady above. This weekend went by way too fast. I'm thinking we need to go down to Vegas to spend more time with his family? yes please.
